What is the best way to mount a scope and know that it is perfectly straight. I've tried bubble levels over the years, but usually end up just going by what appears to be straight to my eye.

Re: Scope Mounting

Level your rifle in a gun vise. Then level the scope. After get a Snipers Hide mil rad target, plumb it at 100Y and verify if your elevation stays along the line.

Other than that, the NSSF has a nice tutorial

Re: Scope Mounting

Thanks for the help. I also found a set of magnetic levels at Cabelas last night that sit on top of turret and inside the rails on bolt action. Thanks again.
