Looking at this leupold freedom trimoa for my sons 22 hunting rifle.I have a area 419 15 moa rail and curious if it will work,i would like a 50 yard zero.If my calculations are correct 15 moa should be about right but im learning.

Should be fine, theoretically it should give him about 45 moa up travel. I always seem to lose travel on the up end when zeroing a scope, expect around 41 moa up with a 50 yard zero, give or take. That would give him slightly over 250 yards of capability.

Your rail should be no more than 1/2 the total available elevation of scope. Anymore than that and you will struggle with a 50 yrd zero. This rule of thumb allows the most use of available elevation
