lots of threads here to browse through:
22 scope+ mounts+rings threads

alot of it comes down to what you need vs. what you want. for 200 yds i like variable with at least 12x, with 18+ magnification even better as you can spot your hits and take your next shot through the same optic.

if always shooting known distances i like a target dot, for ranging / training purposes mildots are hard to beat.

some sort of easy adjusting turrets are really nice to have, and an adjustable obj. or side focus is almost a must.

My Simmons WTC 6.5-20x50 w/ AO makes skeet clays on a berm at 225 yards fairly easy w/ my Savage in 22 magnum. I think for 22lr you'll want either base(s) w/ some MOA in them or Burris Zee rings w/ some MOA in them as well.

Hey guys, good tip on the Simmons. It is on sale for $109 at Midway right now. Went ahead and got one, had ordered a Vortex for my CZ 453, I'll compare em and see what I think between the two, the second place one can go on my Ruger 10/22.
