I have a new Savage 93r17 TRR that I want to mount a Millett TRS-1 scope on to. I would like to use the lowest rings possible but am worried about the main objective hitting the barrel if I go too low. I plan on replacing the factory tri-rail with a Rimfire Technologies 25 moa base. The scope has a 50mm objective, does anyone have experience with this same setup or is there a way to figure out if the Burris low rings will work without buying them and trying them? They list 1/4" but I am not sure what that is in reference to...

Thanks in advance!

Re: Scope ring height selection

I'll take that as a compliment although my math isn't all that!

I just thought of an issue, the 25 MOA bases slope in the front...anyone know how much 25MOA equals in reduction of the base height? They are listed as .425 high and I am assuming that is the taller rear end.
