Im wondering if anyone has experienced this: I have a Vortex Viper HS-T. If I crank up the magnification, I see double reticle lines. It appears to happen on other scopes I own as well. I’m a older feller, need glasses but not for far distances. Just curious.

do you leave your glasses on while looking through the scope ? i had to take mine off when using the scope and adjusting the eye peice till clear

Have you tried adjusting the Diopter, ( eyepiece ), to see if it helps?

I’ve tried various things. It is better with no glasses. But the double cross hairs persist.

Are you shooting with both eyes open?

Sometimes both open, sometimes only dominate eye. Doesn’t seem to make a difference for me.

I sent a message to my friend he’s an ophthalmologist I’ll let you know what he says when he gets back to me.

Recommendation he gave was to see and optometrist or ophthalmologist Depends on the etiology. Most likely it’s cataract or astigmatism. Could be a problem with his retina if he has a detachment (keep in mind this is without seeing you it’s only a best guess recommendation)
