I was reading the scoping advice thread for the Savage Mark II and found out the Center Point was a pretty good one to go with. I'll be damned if I didn't find one on SWFA's Sample List for $39.99 I've been shooting the little rifle for the last week with open sights at 50 yards with my stepson. He said Monday night "we need a scope". I told him I was working on it. Looks like it all fell into place today. Now if I can just find the f-ing bases through SWFA instead of Midway so they'll get to the house quicker.

The Sample List scopes are used ones traded in by other customers if I remember right. That's why the price was lower than what you paid. You can still get good deals though.

They are a pretty good scope for low $$. I had one on a .308 that functioned very well.

I stopped by their booth at the shot show in Orlando back in '08. They have got some higher power options that I really liked, just cant seem to find anyone who carries the higher magnafication stuff in stock.

I was looking for a 2-10X x 40mm for my new little rifle. I didn't want to spend very much on a scope for it, but I was prepared to go up to about $150. When I found that I couldn't pass it up, it was too good of a deal. As long as it works, I don't care if it's got some cosmetic problems, not for this rifle.

I ended up getting Weaver bases from Midway. I just ordered two of the same base since that's all they had listed. I didn't have the rifle with me when I placed the order so I hope I did the right thing.

I have one on my Savage FV and its pretty damn good for $70! Between the two of them I can't believe what a shooter I have for what I paid!

i've got one on a .22lr trainer and on my .22 mag that i use for hunting anthing smaller than deer.

used it in snow, ice, cold, rain, heat, dust. still returns to zero, still clear, still as nice as the day i bought it. it went through alot in the 3-4 years i've had it, best scope i've had (ratio wise) for the money.

i also like the 4-16 power, it seems just right for the .22 mag.
plus it has so many more features for the price that makes it a no brainer. i haven't had a problem with either one, and sure beats the barska, bsa, simmons, tasco, and bushnell products in the same price range, or even 2 to 3 times as much.

i too would like to see walmart or someone else carry the side focus more magnification models that are advertised on the centerpoint website.

It's hard to beat the Center Point scope for the price. I have three, all mounted on rimfire rifles. One of them has seen time on a AR15, .223 & .308 Tikka rifles & is still going strong.
