Scratches from sling

I really like my Tab Gear PRS sling (fastex version), however the metal components of the sling are scratching and dinging up the side of my action and forearm. If anyone else has this problem what have you done to remedy it. Thanks.

Duct tape or the fuzzy side of stick-on velcro on the side of the metal buckle that faces the rifle

My rifles only sling has a metal slider that rubs my scope and stock. Leaves marks, doesn't bother me since the rifle sees more scars from actual use than the sling. Tape it, remove it or just rock on and not worry about it.
