I bought some brass thats loose in the primer pockets. Would be fine in a bolt gun, but I plan to use it in a rather violent ar10.

What sealant, paint, glue etc would help
Or
Is crimped primers the only way.

I have picked up plenty of range brass with a red lacquer or something around the primers.
 
Sealer is just that... sealer. It doesnt retain and its not glue. If your primer pockets are blown out your brass is done.

Crimp isn't going to create a gas seal around the primer if the pocket is loose.

I haven't seen any commercial primer crimping tools, only crimp removing tools.
