Rifle Scopes searching for rings

I've got an Athlon Argos 6-24x50, 30mm tube going on a 20moa rail on a Bergara B14 HMR in .308 and the only thing missing is rings. I was looking at the Burris XTR rings but the lowest size they have is 1 inch for some reason. I like the option to cant an additional 5-10 MOA with the XTR rings. Additionally, I'm a fan of the non-marking mounting system that also doesn't require lapping.

The only other rings I was looking at was the Burris signature zee rings. They are available in a much lower profile but they only allow for increments of 10 MOA cant. At that point, with the optic I have, I think a total of 30 MOA of cant would be a boarder line bad idea.

By lowest size, do you mean shortest? As in low to the rail?

You’re not going to change the cant with rings unless you’re mounting a set of rings with inserts, but I wonder if you need that with your current 20moa canted rail.

You seem to answer your own question in your final statement.

Have you looked at ARC, Seekins/Vortex, or Badger rings? Sounds like you might want to.

Btw, if I may offer some advice: don’t tighten the rings too much on the Argos, the tube will flex. 15in/lbs max. Even if the instructions on the mount call for more, stop at 15...

Yeah, lowest in relation to the rail. It's my understanding that you want rings that are as low as possible.

My main reason for not looking into any other rings other than the burris XTR and Signature zee is the fact that they don't need to be lapped. I'm also not sure what to look for in a set of scope rings that indicate good vs poor quality, etc.

ARC is always my go to for rings, then Badger and Seekins

Badger is your friend. 1" is pretty low, but they make .88" or thereabouts and plenty of options in 30mm. For us, Badger is first option for rings, then start to widen your search. We like NF, Steiner and some Leupold. Lots of options out there.

I guess my main question is - what sets rings apart? As an example, the burris signature zee rings don't need to be lapped and don't mark your scope tube in addition to adding MOA.

No other ring, from what I've seen, can be easily set aside as being more or less superior.

The ARC rings use a single screw, this makes torquing them without the scope rotation g much easier, they also have an exceptional track record for holding tight and not marring the tube. Rings are not something I worry about saving a few dollars one. Seekins and Badger have the same reputation, although there are reports of the ring cap screws of the Seekins rusting.
If you’re set on the Burris then go for it but the others mentioned have a solid reputation in Some of the harshest of conditions.
