I need to put a VX6 2-12 on my hunting rifle and I am considering the 30mm Spuhr ISMS (4001) I have lying around.

Can anyone give feedback on the Seekins 4 screw ring weight?

According to Seekins website, as I read it...30mm 4 screw weighs in at 4oz each, for a total of 8oz.
I don't have a particularly accurate scale to weigh the Spuhr but again...according to Spuhr's website: 7.1oz.

Weight is a concern, which is why I ask. Can it be the Spuhr one piece weighs less than a pair of Seekins rings?
I didn't think I'd ever put a one piece mount on my deer rifle...

Unfortunately I don't have a pair of Seekins rings handy to throw on the scale, but are you sure that's the weight of each ring and not the pair?

If it's weight you are concerned about, here you go: Scope Mounts

Less than 3 oz on a 1 piece mount. 1.5" centerline height might be an issue for a hunting rifle though.

I am not certain whether it is the pair or singles, more or less this is the information I would like to confirm. Considering they note: add .5 oz for 4x6, I'm under the assumption that they are indicating the weight of each individual ring.

I'm partial to Seekins and would prefer to use them UNLESS, for some reason, my $400 spuhr paperweight comes in lighter.
