Looking at buying one of these in 300wm for a western hunting rifle. Anybody bought one of these recently if so how was the accuracy? I would be reloading for it, hoping to get good accuracy with the 212 eldx. Any info would be appreciated.

I recently bought one but haven't fired it . I've been around several over the years and all were solid shooters with factory ammo, some were excellent with hand loads . Many people don't like the palm swell of the factory stock , but it's use able for a while and easy to upgrade down the road.

I have one, not new, a good 10 years old. Shoots very accurately, 1/3-1/2 MOA is the typical range.

My only issue is the roughness of the factory Remington barrel. I get about 20 shots before groups open up to 1 MOA +, even cooled. It coppers like crazy. A couplesoakings of Wipeout and back to tackdriver.

I did the three finest sets of Tubbs bullets on it and so far it has been much better, probably more like 30+ shots between cleanings.

I had one that shot barely under 1 Minute with hand loads. I was dissatisfied so it's now a trued semi custom that's a hammer.

The original varmint sendero with the blued fluted barrel was a sharp looking rifle. Remington sure thought a lot of them though.

Mine is not new but shoots well - not great but acceptable for traditional hunting ranges. It even has a Jewell trigger. If I were buying today I'd be looking at a Tikka or I'd build a semi custom off of a trued 700 action. Maybe a 700 5r but you can build a rifle for that msrp. The palm swell on the Sendero's HS stock sucks - IMO. If I used mine more I'd change stocks.

If you want a rifle you can upgrade and turn into a great shooter that's customized for you, get the Sendero. If you want to buy a rifle that will drive tacks out of the box and not need any upgrades to shoot great or be a pleasure to shoot, look at a Tikka.

i don't have that rifle in 300WM but i do have the remington Gen2... threaded and a nice stock, sadly mine was was not free floating from the factory so i dropped it in a AIC AT stock and she shoots like a laser! don't forget to replace that factory trigger too
