Re: SEPTEMBER ARIZONA PRACTICAL RIFLE CHALLENGE

Would love to come, but already had a conflict on that day. I was hoping that you guys picked a different day for the event. Hopefully, I will be able to attend the October meeting.

Re: SEPTEMBER ARIZONA PRACTICAL RIFLE CHALLENGE

$25 and it is 100% donation. We are currently donating to the WWP. We keep none of it. 100% donated plus we match it. So technically it is 200% donation. The shirts are also 100% donation.

We have updated the directions and they should be a little clearer.

Here is the current list of shooters:

Tim Milkovich
Regina Milkovich
Ross Neder
Bruno
Russ Potter
Keith Johns
Dan Ewing
Mike Moore
Scott Wheeler
Steve Montgomery
Mike Smith
Kirby Goodman
Felipe B
Cory Trap
Myself

Let me know if I forgot to include you and I will get it updated.
I think that we have room, even if you just show up on the day of the shoot. An email would be nice.

Thanks, Will see you sunday at 8.

Re: SEPTEMBER ARIZONA PRACTICAL RIFLE CHALLENGE

We have also got some interest in guys interested in a 1200+ match for the 338,408,416 and 50 guys. So far we have 5 names and it looks like a real possibility. Let me know if you are interested and we will play around with the idea.

I will have the shirts out there this weekend also. $20 each

The 1k shot is gonna be a blast. I am second guessing that 8" target and really wishing that we had drug a piece of 4'x8' steel out there. Then, and only then, would I have a chance at it! Ok, probably not.

I am thinking nothing bigger than 30 cal for these close matches due to the fact that the bigger bullets might move the target and make it unusable for the rest of the shooters. Even with the stuff we had last month, we had to fix the weights on the stands. I will continue to think about that one. Until then, bring what you got.

1200+. How about 1 mile + matches? It's addicting.

Re: SEPTEMBER ARIZONA PRACTICAL RIFLE CHALLENGE

Sorry, but I wont be able to make it to this one. It sucks because I was stoked about going.

Re: SEPTEMBER ARIZONA PRACTICAL RIFLE CHALLENGE

shooting a match is really only scary the first time Savage... and even then, it's not that scary once you're there. hope you make out to shoot one someday.

Re: SEPTEMBER ARIZONA PRACTICAL RIFLE CHALLENGE

Checking the results........ LH Gina wins the pool and she wins a slightly used Savage110/Acesniper desert camo mask!

Seriously Felipe no one thought you would come so it's really no big deal even after the multiple posts about it.

Re: SEPTEMBER ARIZONA PRACTICAL RIFLE CHALLENGE

as you can see, i sniperly acquired a beer. or something. also, we live in Arizona... my "prize" is NOT comfortable, even in the pool. but it does make me look sniperiffic.

Re: SEPTEMBER ARIZONA PRACTICAL RIFLE CHALLENGE

That was a fun shoot, count me in on from now on.
Thanks,
Russ

Re: SEPTEMBER ARIZONA PRACTICAL RIFLE CHALLENGE

BWWAHHHAHHHA!! LHGina I don't think your bikini is a sniper-approved camo pattern, you'll have to remedy that soon. Maybe that will be the next match prize.

Savage110 - make sure the night before a match that you set a time limit on the computer that includes snipershide and porn sites too. Log off NLT 2300 (that's 11 pm) and set 3 alarms. Go right to sleep, no reading, again, not even porn! You may want to practice this for the next year or two because I remember you saying you wanted to join the Marine Corps. I'm pretty sure the Marine Corps likes to get up early for their rifle matches.

Kidding aside, I hope you didn't have a family emergency or something. See you at the NEXT match. Be prepared to take some sh!t from everyone.

Re: SEPTEMBER ARIZONA PRACTICAL RIFLE CHALLENGE

Tim; I am not going to allow Gina to shoot if she keeps doing better than me!

I have updated the site with the results.

If you have any pics from yesterday, shoot me an email with them and I will post them.

Thanks
Brad

Re: SEPTEMBER ARIZONA PRACTICAL RIFLE CHALLENGE

Brad, sorry a bunch of us had to miss this one, but with Utah next weekend and our monthly match the following, we were trying to stay out of the doghouse temporarily.

Re: SEPTEMBER ARIZONA PRACTICAL RIFLE CHALLENGE

Scared me for a minute!! Thought it was Tim!! But he wears a bigger hat!!!

Great shooting with you Gina!! Us lefties have to stick together!!!

Re: SEPTEMBER ARIZONA PRACTICAL RIFLE CHALLENGE

Scott, no problem. I thought for a minute that you were trying to rig the match so Tim could win? Wait a minute, I am going to have to review the rules.

All kidding aside. Good job Tim.

Re: SEPTEMBER ARIZONA PRACTICAL RIFLE CHALLENGE

Well first of all, Id like to thank all the ass holes in this thread.
Now that everyones done making fun of me, I though id let you in on the reason I was not at the Match. I had cracked and split my bolts crosspin, rendering the weapon inoporable. here's how it happened: Being the dumbass that I am, I went and did my routine dry firing session of 50-100 rounds without the use of snapcaps, after about 10 dry fires, I noticed that the bolt did not want to go in, so I worked it again and it closed without a hitch, little did I know it wouldn't open again. I set my rifle aside to sit down with the fam for some dinner, and went back to my dry firing right after, well I couldn't lift the bolt, I thought "thats odd" and had no idea on what had happened, I had split my crosspin in two. So since I dont have the proper tools to torque my action back in place, and my fear of fucking something up internally, I did not try to locate the problem, I thought I had broken my firing pin and was going to send my rifle to Mike R. tomorrow for him to take a look at it, but a little over a half hour ago, I said to myself, fuck it, I wanna see if I can fix it before i spend 200$ in shipping. So I un-torqued my action, and looked through the blind mag box to see if I could locate the problem, and I did, the cross pin was sticking out of the bolt and and into the action preventing the bolt from being lifted, so after a little bit of fucking with the thing, I managed to get it back in place to get my bolt out. I will be ordering 2 replacement pins tomorrow from brownells, 1 to send to birdsong and 1 to have ready to shoot the next match in 2 weeks in case the other doesn't come back from birdsong in time.
And I hope to see all you shit talkin fuckers there.

On another note, Id like to thank Tim and Gina for offering to let me use their
.223 for the match yesterday. And congrats on winning Tim.

Pics= proof right?

Re: SEPTEMBER ARIZONA PRACTICAL RIFLE CHALLENGE

Noone's done.....

Must be that high dollar birdsong treatment that weakens the crosspins. I dryfired my 10FP thousands of time before you were even a teenager and never broke anything.

Its gonna be interesting to see if it shoots as well now that you've played with it. Taking the action out and the scope off to fix a piece of the bolt was in a word......stupid. Or just a good setup for why its back at TacOps conveniently unavailable the next time a match rolls by.

Or maybe its because the action and crosspin are almost as old as I am, explain to me how I was supposed to get the bolt out without taking the action out? it was stuck due to the crosspin breaking in half and sliping into the space between the bolt and the actions inner wall. keep talking out of your ass steve. the action will be torqued down to the same torque that it was when it left Mike's shop, same goes for the rings. I took off the scope because my intention was to send the rifle back, and put the NF on my .22 in the meantime.
Keep being internet tall.
