Shellplate on Forster Co-Ax ??

Re: Shellplate on Forster Co-Ax ??

Conventional shell holders do not grip the case head as well as the co-ax jaws do.

Conventional shell holders do not allow case to float for alignment with die as well as co-ax jaws.

Conventional shell holders release your cartridge so you can change brass as soon as it is out of the die.

I guess I'd rather just adjust the die, especially since once I get it dialed in, its set for good.

Re: Shellplate on Forster Co-Ax ??

I bought that adapter years ago because I was loading 338 LM and nobody had any of the extra large/ extra small jaws in stock . It worked fine . Only problem I had was some of my shell holders wouldn't fit in its slot . I can't remember if I had trouble with RCBS or Redding shell holders. I load 300 Whisper rds with this set up because the jaw don't have enough grip on the rim if you are full length sizing and one is a little stubborn coming out of the die .

I have built co-ax shell holder jaws, co-ax shell holder jaw housing, and co-ax shell holder wear plate.

If I were you, I would make jaws that fit the 338LM.

Sure do, calipers and bump gauges from Sinclair. Just looking for opinions from anyone that has used the adaptor with competition shellholders. The answers seem to indicate that either way is as good as the other. Thanks everyone.
