Shipping ammo question

For those that have shipped ammo in the lower 48 before, what is the easiest way to do it? Upon googling you can't take it to a normal ups or fedex location, it requires a certain decal etc, all i could gather is that you drop off your pre-packaged box at a certain time at their customer centers, are you able to get the require packing materail there or do you have to special order it? I've never shipped ammo before but i got about 8 boxes of unused ammo im looking to get rid of and before i try to sell it i would like to have the shipping arrangement figured out, also does it have to be shipped to a FLL?

Print the new decal on the net and tape to the box. You can ship ammo to an individual with no problem. Do not ship “usps “ ,ups only or Fedex.

Just go to a UPS hub but make sure you write ORM D on both sides of the package before you arrive to save the aggrivation.
Also do your homework before hand becuase they are fucktards and have no clue what they are doing just like everywere else, you will end up explaining thier own policies to them.

The ormd has been replaced by a black and white triangle as of the first of the year. Check UPS web site for it

Print the ORMD diamond, tape it on box, print label and schedule a pick up via UPS. Super easy.

Yea, trying to get all my eggs in a row, recently shipped a razer gen 2, and when i told the lady i wanted $2000 worth of insurance on it she looked at me like i was retarded. I''ll give em a call monday aswell to verify shit. Thanks for all the info guys

Don't call them. 99% of them don't know their own rules and will likely give you wrong information. You can look it up in their regs if you need but all you need to do is print the black and white diamond and tape it to the box. Make sure to ship ground, not air. You either have to schedule a pick up or drop it off at a hub (can't just drop it off at a pick up site or UPS store).

Yes, I just found this out yesterday. I had previously been told UPS doesn't ship any longer; but Fedex gave me some questionable info yesterday as well. The "limited quantity" sticker shown above by sniperwannabe above with the diamonds is now the requirement as of 12/31/2020 by both FedEx and UPS; the old ORM-D stickers are out. The stickers are supposed to be "approximately" 4"x4" (though some are being sold as 3.74x 3.74") ; if the box is too small for that sticker the exemption is made to go as small as 2x2". UPS will only do pick-up, no longer can you drop to a center, so have to set up an account. As an aside, I had first tried to set up an account with FedEx, and after providing all info. got the message and trying 4 times I kept getting "we are unable to process your account at this time as their are problems with our system", tried again today and got same message...hmm makes you wonder what problems.

True. FedEx has a special number and extension # for 81 hazardous materials, firearms, & ammo. where I got the "48" info. yesterday. I am shipping this week and will let you know how it goes.
