So this may have been covered on the scout version of the hide; but, what are everyone's thoughts on the Shooter TV series?

I watched it, it wasn't bad. The different pieces helped make it less of a remake but I thought it was ok.
I liked it.....much more than I thought I would. Didn't have very high expectations when I heard about it but watched it from the beginning and was pretty impressed.

I liked and it entertained me. But, some things were fake as fuck! I tried to roll w/ it & try to enjoy it for what it is. Other times, I rolled my eyes & got up for another beer. I'll tune in for season 2 to see what happens.

My wife and I watched it together....for the first couple episodes. Every time I would point out something not being just right she would roll her eyes. Finally she had enogh with my interjections so she decided she would just dvr and watch alone! Fair enough, I didn't really care for her pointing out every 5 minutes how hot the dude was....win, win! Ha!!
Season 2 is underway, and I need to know where I can get the Kevlar banquet tables.

I absolutely gave up season two, about 10 minutes into the first episode. Too stupid for me. I'll go read, or watch something else. My Lady is continuing to watch it though, in the hopes that 'it gets better'. I don't know if she's more patient, or stubborn. I can't handle it.
And yeah, alot of years ago, I was given that moniker from the civil war fighter (Jim The Nailer) before Stephen Hunter's book came out. Won't deny though, that a number of my friends really laid it on thick at the time, though.

Watched the first season on Netflix and I'm recording the second. It's okay; sometimes it pegs the WTF meter. As others have mentioned, kevlar / ar500 tables etc. First thing I noticed was absolutely no recoil when he is behind a long gun. Its TV and nothing more.
Greg, some years ago My Lady and I borrowed the Season 1 box-set of the original Hawaii Five-0.... and enjoyed it simply for the original '66 and '67 vehicles (brand new) driving on the streets. My, but those were some HUGE land-yachts back then. Stories were much better, and better portrayed than the drivel 'of late', so I don't watch that series either. Actually, I watch very little on tv anymore.
But those cars..... wow.

I think its too much of a soap opera, not interesting enough to want to see again. Terrible writing, don't care for the story line either.
I try to remember that at the end of the day, the writers and producers are selling a product. That said, when watching any sniper genre movie/show, I will suspend my "reality" in the interest of entertainment. Having read all of Hunter's novels, the only thing I don't care for is changing the character/character development. Otherwise, it's decent. I'm just happy that the Sniper genre is becoming more prevalent.

The other day "Parker Lewis Can't Lose" randomly popped into my head for no damned good reason. I wondered whatever became of the guy who played Parker Lewis.
Tonight I'm watching this week's episode of "Shooter", which is better this season I think, and this Border Patrol looks familiar. I hit rewind and pause, and there he is. There the son of a bitch is!
