I’m not sure if this has be asked before but does anyone have experience with precision from shooters world and a what a good starting point is? I know what to do with varget, but since that’s currently harder to find then hens teeth I figured I’d try precision since they are supposed to be very similar.

Do they show any 6 BR loads?
Those can always be used as a foundation to start work on 6 Dasher.

    What bullet?

I got some Precision Rifle to try. Quickload says that 32.3 grains of Precision Rifle is the same muzzle velocity as 32.5 grains of Varget with a 105 Hybrid. I loaded up some at 32.3 grains of shooters world precision rifle and shot them at a big steel plate at 825 yards. I literally could not tell the difference between this load and my regular 32.5 grains of Varget load. Shot them back to back and they were landing in the same group at 825 yards.

Hows the temp stability of this powder?

Either 105 hybrids or 105 RDF, possibly 107SMK just to see how they do

    6mm Dasher *24-inch Barrel 107 gr Sierra MK 2.38 25 2375 31.3 2755 59,043 From Page 38 of their Online Data.

    I just did a load Test with 105 Hybids - 32.4gr 2836fps, SD 9 ; 32.6gr 2874fps, SD 10

Slower than Varget. But as you point out - AVAILABLE!!!

    What was your barrel length?

    26" Bartlein M24.

    Andrew
I ask because your numbers are way different than what I experienced. For same weight of powder charge Precision Rifle shoots faster than varget in my proof 28" 1:7.5 twist barrel. 32.3 grains is giving me 3,020 FPS. Mine is .104 freebore with 400 rounds on the barrel.

.104 freebore, with about 250rounds on the barrel. Yes, the barrel has "broken in" and sped up.

With that lack luster performance from Shooters World, I'll stick to scrounging up Varget.

Well looks like I’ll be digging deep to find some more varget till the shortage is overto fill me needs and then I’m getting some 8lbs
