I remember a while back I talked to a few guys about being able to shoot on the Camp Pendelton Marine corps base range and they told me about a shooting club who had access but I dont remember who and when they all meet up.. And it having to be 50/50 military and civilian turn out.

Anyone know of that club or anyone in that club on here??

Go ahead and PM me if its not to be shouted out on the forums.

Re: Shooting Club @ Camp Pendleton

I used to shoot NRA Highpower there with the Santa Margarita Gun Club and I used to be a member. It's a great club with access to great facilities. The Highpower matches were all shot on the 600 yd. Wilcox Range., but now they also have some access to the 1000 yd. sniper ranges. I haven't shot there in years because my kids are taking up a bunch of weekend time and the matches there take all day from 6:30 AM to about 3 or 4. Here's the website and also the club's forum on Calguns.net. You don't have to be a member to shoot the matches, but you do have to be a member to shoot on practice days.
The Calguns forum for the SMGC is a place to ask questions.

The club is pretty much dedicated to the competitive rifle disciplines of NRA Highpower, Long Range, and F Class with a few Garand/Springfield matches. If you're still learning, they are a friendly, helpful bunch of very knowledgable shooters, some of whom are National champions or former National champions. If you're humble and ask for guidance you'll get lots of invaluable coaching, but if you're a bozo and act like an idiot, you'll be treated like one. Everyone is expected to be responsible and know what they're doing. It's not a range where you just show up and start blasting away. It's also not a good place for newbies just starting out but it would be a good place for newbies to go to a few matches to observe and learn.

Re: Shooting Club @ Camp Pendleton

Yea Im not looking for match time. Just a place to shoot off some hand loads and get some round/data time.

And camp P is the only real 1000 yard range in my area and I have base access so I figured it should work out.
