Sleeper and I decided to reduce the number or Whitetail does from my oat field out in San Saba County, Texas this morning.

I have been target shooting my .308 with 175 SMK's and decided to load up some 175 gr Berger Hunting Bullets for a little extended range hunting. I had to seat the Bergers a little deeper, but using the same powder (44 gr Varget) I got the same dope with the Bergers as the SMK's. I've been itching to try the Berger's to see how deadly they were, and this morning was the perfect chance.

I shot my doe at 510 yards with my Custom .308 using 175 Berger VLD hunting bullets loaded with 44 gr Varget.
Elevation was 3.2 mils
Windage hold .5 mil
My doe ran about 40 yards and dropped

Sleeper shot his doe at 535 yards with his Surgeon Scalpel ,260 Remington. 139 gr Scenars
Elevation was 3.2 mils
Windage hold .2 mils
His doe dropped in its tracks!!

Good way to make killing does fun!
