I am building my wife a 6CM for a hunting rig. She will be shooting factory ammo almost exclusively and I am looking for data on barrel length vs speeds with 105-109 class projectiles.

I’m thinking of running a 20inch barrel because it will be suppressed but don’t want to handicap the cartridge’s performance either. Mostly will be a sub 300yd gun but may get her into the mid range target stuff 5-700 but that would be a secondary function.

Let me know what y’all are seeing with 18-22 inch barrels.

I have a 22" PVA Osprey on right now. With a can on, it's still possible to run good speeds. Previously, I had 109 bergers at 3044, or 115 DTACs at 2900, both with N160.

I'm running the 109 Bergers at 2840 now. I had a little temperature/pressure building issues taking the 3044 load from 40*F to 95*F.

I'm getting 2950 in a 18" brux with 108 eldm. Leaning on Peterson brass with H4350.

For comparison, I run a 16" 6mmC using 95 VLDs (because of twist limitation) running at 2800fps. Shorty 6s are very doable.
