Short barrels that aren't going to break the bank?

Hey all,

Did some searching but I'm not having much luck. Perhaps someone else can offer insight here.

I'm putting together an SBR bolt rifle in 300 blackout with an extra ARC Nucleus action that's been collecting dust. Unfortunately I'm having trouble locating a smith to make a 9 or 10" 300 blackout barrel. My problem is I don't want to wait 3-4 months for one to be made and I don't feel like I need a $7-900 barrel for this purpose. Maybe in the range of $350 is where I'd like to be and a couple week wait?

Am I looking in the wrong places? Does anyone know a smith that can make something like this? Either shouldered prefit or savage small shank. Doesn't have to be some amazing steel or anything. It'll be used for plinking and some light hunting.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Which I understand, however I don't need a $4-500 blank for this purpose either. I'd be happy to pay more if I could actualy locate one.

There are other manufacturers (KAK) making Remage nut barrels that are what I want (Obviously not threaded for my action) for under $200 said and done. So why is it so expensive elsewhere?

Expect longer lead times on odd ball barrels but worth the wait. Hard to beat for the money.
