Alright I’d like to know get you guys opinion on a 2km ELR ish caliber. That the max range I’ll be using it.

fire it up and let me know why that’s would be your choice.

I've taken my 300 PRC to just under 2km (2k+ yards) and it performs pretty well. It's a reasonably cost-efficient round to shoot and build/buy a rifle for. Good set of bullet choices too.

7mm Midget stripper magnum
Aka 7mm mini me magnum
Aka 7SAUM

I’ve had good results well past 2K with it.

@Steel head you need to start trimming meplats and re-tipping ;) And I know a few other ways for me to spend your money...heh

You do win

You do win an award for the caliber description 😂

7 Saum is on my list I’m just wondering if I’d truly benefit in a long action caliber if I don’t go past 2K?
Well I just single load 190 in a short action and mag feed 168’s for closer targets.
I was really impressed with its performance out to 2600-2700 yards, after that spotting certainly gets difficult.

Some R26 or N565 and a 28-30” tube and your GTG.
My third 7SAUM barrel is on the way here, it really is a pretty cool cartridge.

F-open target shooting in Australia is basically 7SAUM class, there probably isn't anything close in a short that is worth considering.

What’s the parent case? Where can I get more details ?
my 300 LRC is a modification of my 300 Alaskan Short Mag wildcat, it's a 338 Lapua case chopped to less than 2", also use 300 & 338 Norma Mag, 423 Dakota brass and have factory made headstamped brass by RCC, 300 LRC reamers are available in two versions , one is for short actions with a 308 Win match throat and the other is for long actions with a long throat that has shown extreme velocity & accuracy with heavy for caliber bullets seated way out in my 300 Long Range Hunter (300 LRH) ..... the 300 LRC is shown here with my 300 LRH from 2014/15 , my version of a 300 Norma Mag Improved (and wow ! there are so many imitations now... that I've completely lost interest in the Normas ) and the 300 Werewolf... now redesigned & renamed to 300 Wolverine , due to conflicts with an older "300 Warewolf" wildcat , basicaly 308-500 Jeffery Improved that I did back in 2013, has 142 gr h20 capacity and has big brothers in 338 & 375 cal

I used the 300 LRC and a Badlands SBD2 205 gr bullet on a moose from the first batch of 100 pcs, that they made for me this past September

fantastic hunting bullet at 300 WBY velocities from a case less than 2" in min trim length

personal project that has been in the works on & off since 2011-12 with a number of chamber/reamer modifications to this final form

@Swamplord
A few questions for you

how do you choose a new shoulder angle?

do you have velocity or pressure data on your current creations with RCC brass?

thanks
