We have much more detailed report coming but here's a few highlights
We have a very experienced optical engineer writing up a comprehensive report and a ton of pics taken
I think Vortex is going to sell a ton of the 1-4 vipers
nice scope
everyone in our group liked it
Overall I really liked the Vortex stuff and the people at the booth
seemed genuinely intersted in feedback
the 1-4 Razor with HD and FFP reticle was nice but it's a steep price tag and that's entering a tough market...
The Preimer Reticles 1-8 was just bad to the bone
red dot to at 1x and transition into a mildot as you go up
that was just high lust factor!
Was surpised to see the S&B 1-8 have the ill reticle off center on both of their scopes.. I realize it's pre production models but seems like it would be better not to bring them or have them under glass
Checked out the Leupold 1.1-8 and though it was nice but for my personal needs the reticle was too much.. I know it was under direction of some special ops guys of which of course I am not. So, their needs obviously drove the design and I am sure it works for them as needed.
Was happy to see Khales back in US distribution and they will have a US service center that will initially work on only the current line of scopes being imported as they need to have them ramped up on "their" product lines
I expressed concern over that and that they really need to get to supporting all Kahles products. I have one of their 3-10x50 Multizeros on my LTR 308 and love it
Spent some time at the Triicon booth and I have a TR24-3G and a TR20-2G and have owned a few Acogs, I like their stuff
Nothing new but it was great to be able to check most models out back to back
I have been interested lately in a TA44SG-10 and it was great to check out in person. I really want to get one in to run for a while on my 16" lightweight 6.8 which I use as a stalking hunting rifle
off to a much needed nap!
