When you are measuring a shotgun for the legal barrel length, do you measure from the tip to reciever, or fro tip to end of barrel inside reciever, this is too clarify if the barrel is too short or legal.

ATF, always dropped a rod down mine.
Face of bolt in battery, to end of barrel. If the rod sticks out and you have no paperwork, best to have a get out of jail free card on speed dial. Don't forget local laws either, I was damn near bit by a city in Fla years back, that has a longer barrel requirement than the Feds, within their City limits.

You are right, just spoke to a Police friend of mine and its 18.50, I never knew thats the way they measure, Anyone able to help with the serial number for aging the shotgun
