Gents,

I bought a S&B 5-25x56 off this site a few years ago and I've been using it for 1k shooting with pretty good success.

I don't have much experience with high end optics, but I'm kind of a buy once, cry once kind of guy so I waited until I saw a good deal on here and snapped it up. Only problem is that it's a mil/moa.

I'm a math idiot, so this has posed a problem for me. Not to mention I'd like a little more adjustment than the 65 MOA the PMII offers.

I called S&B and they offered to make the switch to mil/mil for $500. My question is; would it be a better choice to sell the S&B and buy a mil/mil USO, TT, or Nitghtforce,? Or should I pay for the conversion?

Thanks

Pay for the conversion you can't beat a s&b 5-25. Just my opinion. I've owned and sold a lot scopes in my time, the only scope that I ever regretted selling was the s&b 5-25. After trying to replace it with others, I just went straight back to it.

I would probably spend the money and have them switch it over. Here's why:

1. If you sell it you probably won't recoup enough cash to purchase a new mil/mil S&B or comparable scope (Premier, Tangent Theta or Kahles). The last mil/MOA used S&B's I've seen have gone for anywhere from $2600-$2,800 nowhere near cost of a new one.

2. In my mind USO and Nightforce are not comparable because of glass, unless you get the BEAST, but nobody has those yet.

Just my two cents...

I believe that conversion will raise the resale value of that scope more than the $500 it costs. Mixed scopes are not in high demand and sell for far less than matched units. This does not mean you will get $500 more than you paid though. I don't know what you paid. I do know that my first used scope was not a configuration in high demand and when I eventually sold it it did not sell high.
