    Hey,

We all see times when the gun industry gets trashed for whatever reason. Late deliveries and such.

Well this is not that. I have to give PVA a huge shout out here and recognize them for their great work.

I ordered a button rifled 26" 1/8 twist 6BR barrel on June 15 this year for my RPR. Their wait time was advertised as 5-6 weeks. Well two weeks later it was delivered when I was in the hospital because of a seizure that I had.

I got home yesterday from the hospital and had a box at the house from PVA. It was my barrel that I had ordered. Just two weeks from order to delivery.

On top of that they included their aftermarket barrel nut and wrench. 40 dollar value for free.

Just want to highlight a great experience with them and their business.

    Doc

    Hi @Doc68
I'm glad to hear you're home and doing well. I realize the thread is a bit old but since I'm here I thought I would wish you well and thank you for the business. We appreciate it. Hopefully you've gotten to shoot your barrel. If you need anything else please let me know, I don't get on here much but we get back to emails pretty fast.

Again, glad to hear you're home and I hope you're fully on the mend!

Well I finally got to shoot the new barrel today. I know 6BR is easy to load for, but this barrel is amazing.

Here's the proof in the pudding. Will never hesitate buying another barrel from your company.

    Dang old man!!!

You shoot those Really good groups with a 6mm pencil pushed through the target? 🤣🤣🤣

    Really though, darn Nice shootin!!!

You gonna test more in the 29-29.5 area?
Im still learning picking best node which is why I ask.
Honestly looks like it goes up to what looks like 30.4 though the numbers are a tad hard to read.

Again, learning, so asking to make sure my interpretations are good.

I have never had a rifle not shoot well with a couple initial tests, so never really chased a node. Yet. 😊

Loads went up to 30.6, but they started opening up pretty well at thatcharge. I'm gonna be working something between 28.5 and 29.5. These were all 10 thousands off the lands.

Gate 20, but yes. It's the Cheyenne Mountain shooting complex.

    Doc

Couldn't remember for sure I knew it was 20 something.... My old barracks and brigade footprint were the first ones coming in from that gate back in the day. Lived on the corner of speckler and utah beach drive....goodtimes

Looks like you guys switched places as I saw this morning that Josh himself is in the hospital for undisclosed medical reasons but hopes to be back to work next week.

But on the plus side they told him he doesn’t have the Kung Flu.

I use their 6.5 mm brake on my rifle, it also is a time brake that works with my rugged suppressor. Great company!

Definitely a nice piece. Haven't shot mine yet but the can mounts up nicely on it. Ill probably order another at some point. Didn't notice the 6.5 option a while back.

That is where i would be looking. POI is the same, with the 29 target laid over the 29.5 target you have one pretty good group.

Good to see you out shooting DOC.

Good to know about PVA, I need a barrel. I was just quoted 8 weeks, buy the same place that quoted me 8 weeks for a barrel I ordered about 16 weeks ago. :ROFLMAO:  :ROFLMAO: Needless to say, I am not ordering from them again.

I have driven by that range many times. I have wanted to shoot there since I was little, but about the only thing I can think of now when I go to the big city is, how fast can I get out of here?🤔 :ROFLMAO:

    Good afternoon, Folks.
Many thanks for the prayers and support. I've come to understand that "toughing it out" is not always the best thing and I should have gone to the ER sooner. Turns out I had a septic gall bladder and it had to be removed on Friday.
Not quite "right as rain" yet with the surgery recovery but pretty darn close. This is probably the best my GI has felt for several years. I am super thankful we have the miracle of modern medicine in this country. From the time that I walked into the ER to when the gall bladder was out was less than 24 hours... only thing I can say is that I should have gone in on Tuesday morning instead of waiting until Thursday night

I'm a bit backed up on barrels. We had some delays in August with the new machine arrival and the power getting clobbered by the hurricane on the same day but all in all things are on the rails and going along now. Yesterday was the first day I was back in the shop making chips, today is the first day that I didn't ask Joe to put barrels into the lathes for me to work on them. Feels good to be back at it.

For the folks waiting on barrels that have a true necessity like a hunt, or a match or something coming up please reach out and let us know. I'm doing my best to get us caught up but I basically lost close to 2 weeks over being sick and then the surgery and recovery. I understand the lead times we projected and we're late, we'll be doing our best to get it sorted out.

I've spent a couple days this week doing paperwork and put together a cut sheet for stuff to optimize the lead times. What we're going to do is chip out the odds and ends, which is the small percentage of barrels. Then we're going to do the production-pace run of 6.5 creeds that are stacked. This will minimize the overall lead time for everything.

    Thanks again to Everyone!

What do you need to be allowed to shoot at Cheyenne Mountain? I don't make it up around Springs much, its about a 3 hr drive, its certainly a possibility though.
Just show up and pay your fees. If you are either DOD or retired mil its 8.50 to shoot all day. It's actually outside of Fort Carson, so you dont have to worry about getting on post or registering any weapons. I think it's like 11 for civilians to shoot for as long as you want. I usually get there first thing and go to the 1k range so I dont have all the yahoos out there or the ones who want to ask a million questions(I'm not a people person). Their targets now have the light that light up when you hit them. Kinda nice for sure. The only downside is when a herd of elk or deer decide to walk across the range🤣🤣🤣🤣

One of my soldiers had to have his removed 3 days after we deployed to Germany last year. He had been having issues for over 6 months and Evan's Army hospital kept telling him there was nothing wrong with him( I hate that hospital, that was the same radiologist who said nothing was wrong with my neck🤣🤣🤣). Anyway, he had it removed at a German hospital and is doing great now. He said the same thing as feeling the best in years.

Just be careful of fatty foods now, they may be harder to digest.

Best of you in your recovery.

I have to say that barrel is outstanding, I know 6BR is an easy cartridge to load for, but this barrel is stupid accurate. I'll have to keep posting up some groups.
