Thought a thread similar to the Precision Rifles thread but with a hunting slant would be kinda cool. Here's mine to start:

It's a Stiller Predator in a McMillan Remington Hunter stock smithed by Bryant Custom. I've got two barrels for mine so far, a Brux #4 chambered in .260 and a Brux #5 chambered in .308. Here it is with the .260 barrel on it. Scope shown is a 4.5-14 Conquest, but it currently has a 2-10 HD5 with the Rapid Z 600 reticle. Occasionally I'll put the Bushnell LRHS on it if I want to play at ranges beyond what the Rapid Z reticle provides.

It loves 130gr VLDs pushed to 2940 by H4350.

SAC 7mm Mag = Surgeon 1086 action, McMillan Rem Hunter stock, Bartlein barrel, Vais brake, Jewell trigger, Badger M4 Bottom metal, Nightforce NXS 3.5-15x50 mil-dot

I'll play.

M24A2 with correct marked long action, PCR built
6.5 Creedmoor 24" Krieger with correct M24 crown work
MARS rail
Badger M24A2 bottom metal
HSPrecision PST026
Nightforce F1 with Horus H58 (1 of 3 used in the MK13 trials)
Piggy saddle
Manfrotto 055 tripod with bike handle head and QD mount
HOG sling for use with tripod
Paint done by Shortbus (still need to paint the optic)

140 grain AMAX's for coyotes during the day that I hunt from 300-800 yards. PVS clip on is used for low light or if I still use this when it gets dark as my main night rifles are either my Mk12 or a 16" carbine with a PEQ2A and helmet mounted PVS14.

Nuthin' special:

SIG SHR 970 in 270 Win. wearing a Leupold Vari-X II, 3-9x50

This has been my #1 hunting rifle for the last two years, but it got refreshed with a new scope and stock this year.

Rem 700 based 6.5x47L - basically a Gap Non-Typical barreled action
Now with a Manners EH3 and a Bushnell LRHS

It's been shooting 140 Hybrids fantastically, looking forward to getting it bloody again...

Tikka T3 Super Varmint 308 win
50 cm/19,7" barrel, Sonic 45 suppressor. Zeiss Duralyt 3-12x50 S60

The picture is from before I had the barrel made shorter.

I've used this one the last few years for the most but also carry a 1940's FN commercial mauser in 30-06 and a Remington 600 Mohawk in 243.

Just a plain Jane Winchester M70 in 7wsm built by GAP with a Manners T3 and a MTU 26" Bartlein barrel. Naturally I'm not humping it over mountains but I can cover several acres from my ground blind where I hunt.

That looks like Logan, Montana....nice rifle! How you liking that scope?

These are my two favorite hunting rifles. They are both blue printed 700's in McM stocks with Benchmark tubes.

That is indeed Logan, good eye!

I'm loving both the rifle and the scope. Picked up a second LRHS a little while ago, and am keeping my eyes out for a deal on a third...

I've got two I really like. First one is a Kampfeld Customs built .243 on a Borden Alpine action. Been my lucky antelope rifle the past couple years:)
The other one started out as a factory Remington SPS stainless I also sent to Kampfeld to bling a little, its a 7MM-08 I will be taking mule deer hunting in about 3 weeks. Both sit in McMillan Classic Edge stocks

Carl,

What twist you running?

Thanks,

John

John,

I bought that rifle second hand, and cannot remember if it is 1-8" or 1-8.5", but I am certain it is one or the other. I ought to measure it one of these days...

Carl

1920's Winchester 54 30 Gov't 06
K 1.5 Weaver
Stith mounts (no extra holes)
Stock was cut when I got it with a cheap rubber pad. I dug through junk boxes until I found the old leather lace on one.

There's some awesome rifles here Gents! My contribution is a Rem 700 Custom Safari KS in 375 H&H, rubbed and tuned by Jared with APA. The can is a Delta P Design in 9.3mm cal. I really wanted a do it all gun. Jared cut the bbl to 20", pillar bedded it and made up a Fat Bastard brake. The rail is from Seekins, I can witness the irons both over the rail and the can. The Leupy QR rings make it a snap to go to irons if one needs to enter the pucker brush for any follow up work.

300 Win Mags

Here are my 300 Win Mags. The Mod 70 I have had for about 20 years. It originally was a 7 Rem Mag, but after shooting out the barrel I decided to go with the 300. The Stiller is an AO build, 25" Brux, NF 3.5-15. Since getting the AO the Winny doesn't get much range time anymore. But it has lots of memories and it's a beautiful gun.

This has been the trend for the last few years, getting a more modern gun and putting the classic on the shelf, for the most part. I'll post up more soon. You guys have some very fine looking hunting rigs.

I'll Play... I wanted a 6.5 Creedmoor in the worst way but decided it had to be more than a paper puncher. The primary purpose is for hunting. I put the SWFA 5-20 scope on it for the time being however I have a Zeiss 4.5-14 x 44 that I like and will change it for the upcoming season.

This is a SAC 6.5 Creedmoor/Manners T6A Elite layup/Bartlein Barrel-Rem Sendero Contour. Its just shy of 10lbs without glass and can (Should be ~11+ lbs with the Zeiss and rings).

20140910_205146.jpg

The first is a 22 Mag and the other a 10/22 Take Down. Both great squirrel/rabbit/whatever etc...

.22 Mag is a Savage with a Boyds Stock...... 3-9x40 Zeiss.

I have my hunting rifle (first centerfire) on the way! Should be at my FFL Friday. It's a Ruger American Predator in .243. I'm planning a few mods, but it'll stay mostly stock.

My old standby for most of my hunting career was this SAKO L579 .220 Swift. A couple from "back in the day". I still have it, and always will.

I'd love to spend a day just going through your trophy room Pat! Man you've shot some big bucks.

I don't hunt with my Low Wall .260 as much as the Stiller, but when I do, it seems to work fine…
