...Okay here's the deal. I was wondering how the Sierra 142MK would perform in the 6.5 Creedmoor. I've been having trouble finding the 140 A-Max to load in my new rifle, but have a lot of 142's that I shoot in my 6.5x284. My results were that the 142's out performed the 140 A-Max by quite a large margin. The test was not overly scientific nor was there a certifying official from MIT or NASA. Has anyone had similar results? I've not had as good luck with A-Max's as I have with Sierra over the years...
The gear:
A 1-8 twist Lilja barreled Surgeon action in a MCM A-5 stock with all gun work done by Allan Warner.
The loads:
Sierra: New 6.5 Creedmoor brass, flash hole uniformed (my own superstition), 40.5 gr 4350 with Fed 210M primers.
Vs.
Factory loading of 140 A-Max with the same case prep.
The conditions:
100yards, 1/4 min of wind from the left, 5 rounds.
The pics:
A-Max
