My M400 is having a hard time grouping. I have the stock 16" barrel and a vortex pst 1-4 and have 4" group at 100yrds. This seams like a lot to even start with. I was gonna work up my own load but not sure if the it is even worth it. Any info will help.

Go to the store and buy a box of every ammo variety you can find. My ar15 shot FGMM and hornady match into groups that could barely be covered by a baseball cap. It shoots hornady zmax and American eagle into 1 moa at 100 yards (10 shot groups).

I'd check the scope and rings/mount first thing. If everything is perfectly torqued, maybe consider mounting up another optic to eliminate that variable. More often that not, is is an optic or mounting issue; things can loosen up easily with .223 recoil.

I'd also check the barrel and crown for anything obvious. It could be copper fouled badly or something like that, that is if it shot good previously and now doesn't. Maybe a heavily fouled brake or flash hider? Just thinking out loud.
