I like three weapon groups. Rifle, side arm and knife of the same "style".
Do to changes coming, I limit myself to four firearms. Which also meets my minimalist requirement.
Two safe queens - Shiloh Sharps in .45-70 and Colt SAA in .45 LC. Randall Made Bowie is the third weapon in this group.
Last Fall I bought a G.A. Precision bolt action rifle in .308 WIN and a Night Force scope. Already had a Randall Made Attack knife. So, needed the third weapon.
Out with the single action Ruger and in with the new Sig Sauer P220 bought last Thursday.
Below is the fast track (for me) Sig P220 setup over the last three days as it replaces the Ruger as my home defense weapon. The Sig - 3.9" barrel, .45 ACP, stainless steel barrel and slide, alloy frame, DA/SA, 30 ounces with mag and no ammo.
Right off, take apart, inspect, clean and lube.
25 ft at the Lake City range yesterday.
Range board. Three types of ammo. Sig Sauer defense, Winchester ball, Winchester defense. From round 1 to round 54, the Sig ate it all up with no issues at all. 100% reliable. I even tried limp wristing it.
I don't recall shooting another firearm that left me with black finger tips.
Target at 25 ft, free hand. I felt pretty good about this. It was my first day and the first shot is double action followed by single action. I think there is a lot of inherent accuracy in this pistol.
Three dot sites are helpful to my 52 year old eyes.
Baby is home.
