I am looking at a used Sig P228 that I noticed had some slight damage on the slide. It looks like the trigger bar spring was replaced and the person doing it probably didn't have much experience and probably used the wrong tool(I assume this because the finish around the trigger bar spring is roughed up a bit). Anyhow, it looks like when the new trigger spring was installed, it was not flush with the surface of the rail on the frame. When the slide was reattached and racked back, it slightly deformed some of the metal on the rail on the inside of the slide. The slide racks back and forth smoothly at this point but there is some deformation of the steel and I can see and feel a sharp edge. I have fired the weapon and it performs flawlessly. My questions are: is this something I need to be overly concerned about and can I smooth this area out myself with a stone and buff/polish smooth? Any insight or recommendations are appreciated.

Thanks.
