For those curious to compare ~$2,000 MSRP Glass vs. <$1,000 MSRP Glass.

    Left: Leupold VX-3i LRP 4.5-14x 50mm

    Right: Sig Sauer Tango6 5-30x 56mm

Taken at 930am at sea level an upper-50s.

The Sig "appears" sharper in some places, but is also washed out a bit more compared to Leupold especially when you look at the trees on the hillside in the far background. I don't know how Leupold does it, but the contrast with the shadows is notable and helps the image pop more.

The more I use FFP scopes the more I feel I want to move back to SFP with a thin reticle that doesn't clutter up the sight picture.

I think that is close enough for me. I think either would do the job i needed them to do. One question though : how does a 4-14 go to 20x? Maybe i'm missing something.

My goof. The second set is Leupold VX-3i 6.5-20x 50mm scope from my other rifle. Notice the reticle is different. Both are VX-3i.

In a vaccum, with nothing to compare, either scope is👍🏽. Clarity, they are both at the point where we may all be fine. Sig has a warmth to the glass while Leupold looks cooler.

There are other usability differences. For example, eye box is easier in Leopold and the eyepiece takes up less sight picture. Also, field of view on Leupold is wider at virtually every magnification.

But consider one scope (sig) retails for 2x more than the other (Leupold).....
