So I need to purchase a scope for my rifle. I was trying to avoid spending $1600 for a new scope. I have tried to do some research on here and it seems most people end up suggesting the NightForce scopes. I have also read some good things about Sightron scopes. If most of my shooting would be done at known distances up to 1000 yards would the Sightron work for me? I basically wanted something that had turrets that I could dial up for known or lasered distances. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Sightron Scope?

Yes sightron works great. They even offer a Mil Dot reticle so shooting unknown distances isn't an issue. Sightron is one of the best values in the sub-$1000 scope market. The only issue I have with them is the lack of mil turrets.

Re: Sightron Scope?

I wouldn't buy anything Sightron except the SIII Mil Dots, which really aren't bad for the price. In fact, I might get a 3.5-10 SIII Mil Dot for shooting with my LE buddies who call adjustments in MOA.

Re: Sightron Scope?

Thanks for the info guys. I went ahead and pre-ordered the PST from Liberty Optics. I decided on the 6-24 FFP MRAD version. Now I just have to hurry up and wait for summer to roll around before I see it.

Re: Sightron Scope?

One of the f-class shooters at Bridgeville has one. His last three scores have been either 199 or 200 with 12-14 X's. I am considering one myself. They do have 1/4 MOA turrets, as stated above.

Good luck

Re: Sightron Scope?

SIII's have some of the best glass you'll find on a sub $1k scope, hands down. Turret tracking is very precise and repeatable, with customer service that is second to none in the industry. The newer fixed powers have a modified mil dot reticle, which is a nice improvement over the standard mil. Te only negatives are the MOA adjustments and the variables are not offered in FFP.

If Sightron would offer a mil/mil scope in FFP and a pistol scope, I'd have no reason to buy any other!
