Anyone have any experience with the new SIII 10-50x scope? I am considering replacing the Weaver 24x fixed target scope on my 12 LRPV .223 with this model, and I'm curious how well the scope will do above 32x. I would really like to get the target dot model, as it should have great glass. But, will the image darken out too much on higher power?

I'm going to call Sightron in the morning, and try and get a little more information about this scope. Looks like it would be great for bench!

Re: Sightron SIII 10-50x60

It is a nice scope looking scope with good glass. I got mine from Midway USA Monday. While in good light, it is very sharp and clear even at 50x. In lower light not nearly as clear and bright at 50x obviously but taking it down to 30x or 20x makes a huge diffrence for the better. I went with the fine crosshair personally because the 1/8 dot reticle could be problematic at 1000yds. It does not come with any type of lens shade or lens caps. Instead it comes wrapped in a lens friendly cloth. If you are using it for long range keep in mind it has 50 moa of elevation adjustment. Sightron recommends 10 MOA of play from bottoming out the adjustments to insure accurate adjusments. Not sure about that part yet. Over all it has fantastic glass as I had read from numerous reviews. One other concern i had was setting up the scope on the rifle. I am using a 20 moa NF picatinny rail with high mark 4 Leupold rings. Barely have clearance from the Kreiger MDA barrell and i do mean barely.
hope this helps.
