Rifle Scopes Sightron

How good is the glass on the Sightron SII Big Sky scopes? I think I read somewhere the clarity is comparable to Nightforce. I realize the Big Sky scopes are for hunting, but I just need a cheaper scope to tie me over for now til I get a PST. And samplelist has an SII Big Sky on there for $400. What are your thoughts on this scope?

They are very good scopes, several guys in my hunting club got them and they love them. Several have ditched Nikon's and Leopold for them.

I'd say the SIII line has comparable glass to a nightforce. Not sure about the big skys, although I haven't looked through them.

I seem to recall reading somewhere (maybe even this forum) that the SIIB actually uses the same glass as the SIII line...

I would say that statement is accurate. I have been highly impressed with every SII and SIII scope that I have looked through. Just search "Sightron" in the search box. There are some great threads on these scopes in the Hide forums!

I was PM'd about looking into the new Vortex HS series scopes and they got a 2.5-10 power for $360...maybe I'll go that route..I think they have the same glass as the PST's any complaints about the PST's clarity?
