From SA Facebook Post......
DCA...headed home after a week on Capitol Hill. We met with ATF on Tuesday at the HQ. I spent some time on The Hill talking to legislators' staff. Good news and bad news.
Good: The air traffic controller bill that passed last Friday was felt throughout all federal agencies. The DOJ/BATFE was set to furlough employees and they no longer will for the remainder of FY2013. The contractors that were laid off are being rehired.
Bad: Sequester did cause some increased wait times due to data entry personnel being laid off. They are headed back to work now. We will be releasing more info after the ASA board convenes.
Take Aways: increased congressional inquiries got funding to the NFA. We need to continue to harp on or Representatives. Keep calling. Keep writing letters. Stop calling on your forms all of the time. It's causing longer waits. Data entry people answer the phones and it keeps them from doing their jobs, per Sr. ATF officials. More to follow.
Thanks Guys!!
