So I know I'm probably going to get laughed off of the forum for this, but what is you guys experience with these scopes? Would you run them on a back up rifle? Or not run them at all? I have my own opinion, but most I read online is bad. Most I hear in person is good. So it makes me wonder if any of the guys on other sites really have tried them or if they just don't like them because they are cheap. Obviously they aren't a Leupold, Burris, or anything in that price range. However, do they work? Do they hold zero for you? Etc.
I found this old thread and was surprised to read almost all positive on Simmons scopes. I wondered if you guys have this same opinion of their cheaper scopes.

Re: Simmons 8 Point and Blazer scopes.

I have given up with the cheap scopes on anything but rimfires. If you are going to be putting this on a centerfire rifle, I would look to at least a Super Sniper. Many of the cheap scopes are just hit or miss.

Re: Simmons 8 Point and Blazer scopes.

Well, the reason I ask is a Simmons Blazer came on the gun. I don't care for it that much, but so far it seems to hold zero well and is actually pretty clear in the day light. In low light it's not so great, but I don't shoot in low light.

I really want the Super Sniper variable power scope, but I'm wanting more than 3-9 power. I've read they are working on 5-25 or 5-something variable power which sounds like exactly like what I want. So I'm trying to convince myself to keep this Simmons until the higher power Super Sniper comes out. I've almost bought another scope a few times, but I really want to Super Sniper and am trying to convince myself that since this Simmons works, that I should just wait for the SS to come out.

Re: Simmons 8 Point and Blazer scopes.

I have a 4-16 Blazer that came on a used rifle I bought. I have it on a AR I'm playing with but I'm not impressed with it in any aspect. I'm not a optics snob by anyone's definition but would definately go better than the Simmons for anything above pure range toy status.
