Cool, I was thinking about starting with 40.5grs RE17 under some 105 Hornady & Berger Hybrids. Sound good??

Im going to try RE17 since itll give me more velocity. 41.2grs should give me 3300fps from the Hybrids and the 105 HPBT Hornadys.

I'm curious to see whether or not you could get that high in a 6XC. It seems like a pretty hot load.

Interesting. I stand corrected, thanks for the article.

Re: Since the 6XC & Creedmoor are so close........

RE17 will definitely give you the velocity you are looking for but you won't have the same precision as H4350. I've shot groups in the .2s with 4350 best I've seen with RE17 is .5 to .6... which is still awesome it's just tough knowing there's something more precise out there for you.

You didn't say what your application was... maybe more speed and a little less precision are fine. BTW I saw about 3300fps with 40.5g of RE17. My current load of 39g 4350 is right at 3050-3080.

Im looking for the most accurate load, of course. My 6mmRem is liking RE17, Im hoping my 6 Creed will like it even better, I have 5lbs of it. Are you shooting a 6XC or Creed?

I'm shooting 6XC for the numbers above. I landed on 4350 by running a head to head group off...Five five shot groups at 100yds. I will say I liked the way the recoil impulse felt with the RE17. It was a smoother push and I felt connected to the bullet...hard to explain and I know it sounds a little too zen. 4350 in contrast is a sharp quick popping impulse. With a higher velocity, flatter trajectory and my zen engaged, I wanted RE17 to be the winner but, I couldn't ignore my grouping data.

Re: Since the 6XC & Creedmoor are so close........

Guess Ill have to try it in my 6Creed, if it doesnt produce 1/4moa out to lets say 200yds Ill try H4350 and settle for less velocity. say, is a score of 600-39X @500yds any good? What would the mean spread be on that score?
