Hello all! I cannot find any Winchester or Remington 7mm-08 brass so I am making some from a bunch of Lapua 308 I have.
I need to neck turn it down to fit the match chamber.
My question is how much should I turn it down to? Neck diameter in barrel is 0.315, brass currently is 0.315-0.316 when necked down in sizing die.
How much should I take off? I turned a few necks down to 0.310 and loaded a bullet and it chambers just fine at 0.312 when loaded. Is that good or should I take a little bit more off?
Any experienced advice would be greatly appreciated, purpose for rifle is steel silhouette shooting out to 600.
Thanks!
