Greetings,

So I am about to start sizing my 308 Federal Gold Medal Match once fires brass and I want to bump size .002 for the rifle I’ll be using.

However I have about 1000 pieces that were fired out of the same rifle BUT the barrel has been changed and the receiver has been trued on approximately half of the brass I have so I most likely have two different headspace dimensions.

I did keep a segregated box of brass that was fired out of the rifle in it’s current state so I have a x1 fireformed piece I can take measurements from.

My question is can I set up my die to bump .002 on the fireformed piece of brass that I have on hand and then run all 1000 pieces on the die setting? Or do I need to just go ahead and full length size with the die screwed all the way down on the first reload of this brass?

I've done the same and before sizing I chambered a couple my fired cases to see how they fit in my new barrel. And as expected, they were too tight. Then I FL sized those cases with my normal .002 bump and chambered them again to check the fit. They fit just fine then and have worked fine since. BTW, these cases were also from Federl's .308 GMM cartridges.

I have AR two barrels that are really really close to each other.
Body, neck and freebore diameters seem to match.
Can't tell the difference in fit.
The COAL is about 0.010" different so I have two different loads that seem to work well.
The 3rd barrel is a little different.
Sorting through my bolts I have a few that are also really really close to each other.
(none more than 0.002" different).
