New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
You are shooting both calibers, I assume and want to purchase just one bulk purchase. Correct?
In general, I prefer to neck up, though in this particular case, it would be easier to just neck down and it shouldn’t make a whole amount of difference. Depending upon which brand of brass you’re buying, you may not even have to turn necks.
Personally, I prefer to neck down as necking up can cause more donut issues. This is a common complaint with guys shooting .284 variants and having to neck up Lapua 6.5x.284 brass. This said, if you are keeping the bearing surface/boat-tail junction above the shoulder/neck junction, the donut problem is more or less a moot point. Still, having necked down from a 6.5x47 to a 6x47 and necking up to a .284, I found the process easier when necking down.
What caliber are you shooting or both?
What brass company are you looking at?
Powdervalleyinc. has both in Lapua and Alpha has both in LRP
If your shooting both, I would buy 100 of each, that way you can keep them
separate and they would have the same number of firings per batch.
I don't think you'd be happy neck sizing down half to get to your 6 creed.
I did it before they came out with factory 6 creed and didn't have a problem.
No reason to do it now with both out. Don't try to save a couple of bucks.
For those cartridges, neither. There is a glut of both on the market and the time spent sizing up or down invalidates any savings buying bulk of just one.

Neither unless you have to. When there is brass available for both of them, spend the extra $10 in shipping and save yourself the time and aggravation.
