There was some good Jessica Biel action in that one though.

Watched it the other day. The movie has potential but i felt it didnt really go anywhere for me.

I dont know why as the CG is good, nice and lush. I just didnt find myself pulled into the story

Re: Skyline, anyone?

The directors own a CG VFX studio called Hydraulx; that's why the effects were good. They're complete dbags, in my opinion, but they made this movie as on the cheap as possible. They used their own RED cameras, lots of friends for acting talent, and shot much of the film at one of the brother's condos in Marina Del Rey. The screenwriter is an actual VFX artist apparently so this was really just a grand experiment for them. As shitty as the film is, it was shot for about $10million and probably has made the money back. This is pretty much the same scenario we tried back in 2001 with Coronado - visual effects guys write and direct a movie that's privately financed and use their own small effects team to make it seem bigger than the $4 million used to make it. "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow" was along the same lines (funny note: I made CG snow elements for that one while fighting in northern Iraq) but they ballooned their budget from $30million to over $100 million.

The Strause fucksticks are apparently making a sequel or two to "Skyline" now.
