Delirium tremens

Imagine the catastrophies and mass casualty events of the future once engineering, airline pilots, aircraft structural safety personnel, etc., are all hired based on woke "diversity and sexual orientation privilege" instead of actual qualifications and skills. Silicon Valley Bank is just one case where the chickens have all went home to roost...

It was a malfunctioning elevator.

I am guessing the one who reported it felt like the floor dropped "five feet" is inclined to a little hyperbole and melodrama.

Details emerge

"workers were performing a software update on the Summit observatory elevator when the car fell three stories and landed on a spring, which made the building shake. "

Reassuring that a software update can do that.

"The elevators ascend 120 ft up a steel track that climbs the exterior glass wall of the skyscraper, from 1,084 ft at the Après outdoor alpine meadow to the highest vantage point on One Vanderbilt at 1,219 ft. The custom steel track engages the six, 20-hp, three-phase Cimolai motors mounted above the cab in the rack-and-pinion system, guiding each 50,000-lb elevator at 83 ft/min. "

"All communications with the elevators are performed virtually, without any travel cables connecting the cabs with the controls." 😱

Was this the building (skinny building) that was subject of a Nova/PBS documentary on Impossible engineering? Because it exuded woke from the beginning.

Every engineer on the video is a chick, a fag or an EEOC type. Of course that’s probably just the ones PBS wanted to highlight on their video. Because… optics. Right? Right?? Or did they build a building using the best POC’s instead of the best engineers?

Just an observation…

Yeeah no. When a government or bureaucratic representative says "no cause for concern", that means my ass will NOT be within a 100 yard radius of the area of concern in question. Do they really think people trust them after decades of malpractice and incompetence, outside of the truly braindead sheep?
