Wondering what you guys would recommend for a good sling for my gun. I'm new to the whole ar world so I have no preferences on type. I'm hoping to get both suggestions on slings and attachment methods. With be primarily used for hunting.

Look at urban ERT sling, you can go from two point to one point sling. Plus you can get a belt attachment so that in one-point sling, you can flip you gun to your back, snap it to attachment and have you hands completely free without the dangling in the front in the way problem of one-point slings

Re: Slings for my gun?

The UBR stock has two sling quick detach sockets. Anyone have a link of the mounts that fit into those sockets? or what they're called. And how would you attach the sling? The UBR sling loop or the qd sockets for the rear? And then I assume they make a rail sling attachment for mounting on the side of the hand guard for the front of the sling?
Obviously personal preference comes into play but looking for what works for others so I know the best bet to start w/.

If I remember correctly the current UBR has four (4) spots where QD sockets can be added but you have to purchase the sockets. Brownells carry's them as do several other places UBR QD Socket . As far as the front QD attachment point there are several options. I personally like the Gear Sector QD mount or the Daniel Defense QD socket rail attatchment . One of the things you need to decide is what sling you want and how do you want to attach it to the rifle. All the items I described use a QD socket with push button QD swivels. I agree that a non rotating socket is best but I do not think that the sockets for the UBR are non rotating. For a hunting style rifle I would recommend a 2 point sling possible padded. Take a look at the padded VCAS sling
