Does anyone have any experience running 6creed at lower speeds. It seems everyone is trying to push over 3,000 FPS. Im looking to run mine around 2850 with a 105/108 class bullet to save some barrel life and closely match my 6BR.

H4831sc would be good. I used to use 43.0-43.5 in 243win with 105s, good for 3000fps. In the smaller creed case, it would probably do 2925 or so. Bonus, h4831sc is abundantly available, h1000 not so much.

Completely different animal, but here is h4831sc with 140 eldm in a 6.5prc. It was a little too fast burn rate, I hit pressure before I got speed. It shot really well and all 3 shot groups were single digit sd.

I put 2400 rounds on a 26” 6 Creed with the 115 and 40.4 grains of H4350. I was around 2885 FPS. I think i lost .060” and recoil was modest compared to a high pressure 105 load.

My 26” 6mmCM does 3100 FPS with 40.4 H4350 & a 105 Hybrid.

The concept is sound. Though for me, the only reason to own a 6cm is if you want then option of using factory ammo. Which is going to be in the 3k fps area. In which case you’ll be negating the benefits of running slower (barrel life) unless you rarely run the factory ammo.

For slower speeds I’d just stick solely with a 6br or variant.

My guess is that if you run a 6 Creed at 2850 with a 105 you'll find that accuracy isn't quite as good as a 6BR, that there's more recoil than a 6BR (higher volume of burning powder) and that there is less barrel life than a 6BR (again higher total quantity of burning powder, even if at lower pressure).

I would just run a 6BR in that situation.

If you want to take a 6 Creed and do something conservative with it, I'd say H1000 or H4831, shoot maybe Barnes 112's or 115 DTAC's at around 2900. Ballistically capable and a fair bit better than a 6BR, not high pressure, should have decent barrel life.
