well the wait is finally over!!!!!

im not so sure they used enough bubblewrap, it took me 15 minutes just to cut it all away!!!!

here she is in her new dress.......isnt it cute???!

been waiting on this stock for about 6 weeks and this is the second one i have had to wait for......
long story short, the AUSpost lost the first one, but Clinton, the manager at APRS (lightforce aka nightforce)sent me another one....free of charge, priority overnight express. and this one arrived today!!!

i can not believe how generous a gesture that was, and words cannot express how great it feels to be really looked after.

shit happens, things get lost in the mail, i understand that, but its what the company does to rectify the situation that is what really counts to me.... he would have been well within his rights to tell me it was my problem to find the lost one, but he went the extra mile to make sure i could shoot this puppy ASAP!

anywho, i pick up my tricked out NXS tommorow with all the mounting hardware, so i shall let you guys know how it goes once it is all bolted together...

the gun was a real shooter before hand, here is what it started out life as...bog standard SPS tac in .308 with some handloads, and a nighteater scope (i know i know, shut up, it served its purpose and came free with the rifle.)

im acctually surprised how light the stock is as i was expecting a beast, but it comes up really great and balances right on that front action screw where you want it to...

cheers and i shall let you guys know how tommorow goes when i get back from my 5 hour round trip to pick up my scopes. (zeiss for the howa)

big sorry for the poor iphone pics, but as i have said before, i wrecked my good camera when i tried to 'fix' it one day. manners and Nightforce porn to come, watch this space!!!

well i got it all mounted up...........im happy, hehehehe

FNG: $628 from memory, but youd have to talk to lightforce and see what they do them for as i think prices change from batch to batch.

AXEman: i was sick of not being able to use the bipod in 80% of shooting situations, so i tied on the strap so i can use it to shoot off, ie: rest the rifle on a skinny fence post, or the bullbar on my 4X4, or a tree branch that isnt facing the exact right direction 90 degrees from what im shooting at, etc etc...makes a huge improvement, plus you can use what ever you can find, shoe lace or 550 cord etc etc...

its just alot more forgiving in many situations i find anyway...

so i ended up getting:
Nightforce NXS 3.5-15x50 MilRad Adjust/MLR Reticle, Zero Stop
Nightforce 20 MOA rail
Nightforce Medium Ultralight Rings
Manners T4 in OD Green
Cheekpad/pouch rest thing for free with my nightforce stuff.....

and for the howa:
Zeiss Conquest 4.5-14x50
Leupold PRW (PWR??) Rings
EGW 20 MOA rail (came with the rifle)

the howa with zeiss conquest 4.5-14x50 on it in leupold PWR rings on EGW 20 MOA rail.

went out and sighted them both in for 100 m, howa is fantastic....half MOA or better every time.

rem really needs to be bedded now into the manners...so now i have a job for next week....

also just started my new load work up for the rem.
Lapua Brass, CCI Bench rest BR2 primers, ADI AR2208 (varget)and the new 155 palmas, she should bark real nice now......

Looks great! What are your impressions of the Zero Stop so far? I'm debating if I should spend the extra $ on that when I get my next NF.

ill let you know when i get this load sorted, no point zero stopping till i get a load im happy with.

i say get it as your already spending plenty, may as well get everything and have no regrets...?
