Who in thier right mind would take 4 j frames apart at the same time?

Naw its a family colection of air weights getting tuned with new springs.

New gunsmith in family decided to do all the light weights first since not as much mass to pull against if that makes sense.

Mine now smooth and 7.5 lb on each cylinder with cut factory springs.
New sets on order from brownells.

Pulling against a steel jframe feels different than the alloy.

Complete strip and lube, will go through qc at range before going back into service. Also to check my laser.

Got a lot of shots to pull on those going to download a batch of 38 so I can line em up back to back and let them cool between.

    Should be fun.

Yes that first one is mine and like that big dot a lot nite or day. It also rocks laser grips.

You have to remove about an 1/8 off the top of the front, if not practiced in that type work I would pass to a smith since it is a permanent thing.
Can't remember any coming off the sides? Been a long while, the xs sites were brand new my wife got me from the owners in a shooting comp she was in.

My wife will shoot snubnose for fun but prefers single stack 45 or compact 9's for carry.

I'd rather do all mine at once...when I started, I had several revolvers apart at the same time like tthe original photo.

Having to be careful with pristine 40 year old bluing jobs was a bit stressful though.?

Thanks for the better pic, I like how you left a bit of ramp it looks clean. The ones I’ve seen have had the entire ramp removed.

I got a smith locally that will do it for $50, and I need a new set of files (~$30) so I’m thinking I may as well have the pro do it.

50$ is a good price, I would let the smith do it and we decided the xtra bit of ramp would be stronger if left.
Also lesen a snag point, so far 4 different holsters have not needed mods to draw from or carry in .
It has been on for a long time now the 642 was pretty new then. Tritium still visable at nite.

Texas all summer in cargo shorts.
Snubnose disapears in the pleated pocket.

Go shirtless for the young studs in appropriate places.

Uncle mikes (holster) to keep out some lint and break up hard lines.

Most / nearly all trained eyes miss it.

I need a big dot for my 340PD. Easily the best $600 I ever spent on a handgun, that damn thing goes EVERYWHERE. Even if I carry something else, I still have it too.

There is a big difference in the feel of the trigger between a steel frame and a scandium frame for sure.

Ex wife kept her 649... Wish I'd talked her out of it. That was a nice damn revolver.

One casulty in the great spring swap.
One main spring pivot pin headed for mars and may be there by now.

Search party threw in the towel.

    Allready ordered from brownells.

Several hundred pieces of 38 brass tumbled today for some range ammo.

Major cleaning of gun room and 4 new led lights over benches.

Lol! Been THERE before. Launched a detent pin during a trigger swap on my M&P once. Taught me an important lesson not to do that type of fine work in a messy garage.
