SO CAL 1000 YARD MATCH SUNDAY <span style="color: #FF0000">5-30-2010</span> at DESERT MARKSMAN RIFLE AND PISTOL CLUB near Palmdale ca.

This will be a prone paper match at 1000 yards off bipod or bags. Bring 50 rounds 20 shots for record + sighters

This is an individual match with 3 classes 22-308 cal, Magnum-408. 416- 50 cal.

Certificates & prizes will given for 1st - 3rd in all 3 classes.

If you ever wanted to see what you and your rifle can do at a 1000 Yards this is the shoot to attend.

At the last match there were many new shooters that have never shot a 1000 yards before and 3 of them placed and took home some prizes.


Entry fee is 25.00 day of the match.I expect the match to fill up early so get your name in soon.

All shooters are welcome to camp the night before at the range and join us for a BBQ,So bring your tent,Bag,trailer or what ever its always a good time.

Please Be at the range no later than 7:00am the day of the match for the shooters meeting.We will be sending shots down range by 8:00am

For anybody who hasn't done this shoot. Brad puts on a great competition. The last well was very well run and very enjoyable. I am really looking forward to participating again.

I have added an extra relay due to the overwhelming turnout we are getting for this match. Even with the extra relay i only have 4 spots open So get your name in ASAP thanks Alpine

Guys, sorry for the request, but does anyone by any chance have a bore scope they can bring with them to the match? I just want to take a look at the throat of my barrel to see whats going on in there.

forecast call for temperature to be near 90F. It could be a long hot day. Something tells me we will be powering our scopes down quite a bit

12x is probably all we can use.

Thanks Brad for putting such a great match. This was only my second time competing and to my surprised, I placed 3rd in the Magnum class.

Like shooting inside a bowl of soup! I didn't dare touched the barrel of my 338. 92 degrees with 10% humidity.

I didnt hit mirage at all in the morning that day. I had my scope at max power too (22x) But the winds kicked my ass on my 3rd string. Still good enough for 2nd place in the magnum class though. Cant wait for the next one in August.

I only took 1 pic that day with my phone, my rifle with my home made verticle blind/mirage band. Worked really well!

The wind kicked all of our asses on the 3rd string in the morning. Untill then my score was 50 for the first 2 strings.

Thanks again to all the Shooters , volunteers , and sponsors that make the match a success. The Winds really played havoc this time.They were not Very Strong but variable from East to West

It was a full house with 49 shooters so get your name in early for the next match on Aug 29th.
