Keep hearing about how DBM are only used by gamers on bolt guns. Guess no one told the guys from WWI that

Saw that at the NRA National Firearms Museum this past week and thought some might find it interesting that the DBM was used frequently by the men in WWI on their bolt action sniper rifles.

I don't think of it as gaming as some do. I think of it as adapting to the task at hand. The rifle above is from WWI so probably from the same time frame as your pic.

That pic actually has an interesting story behind it, Rollingthunder51 posted it a while back, talked about how the old timers would adapt DBM's from other weapons on their rifles.
