On a serious'er note, that's a damn good idea'er. I'll have to see if the local hardware store here in town has'm in stock. We ain't got much selection of nuffin but Fishes n Forest Animals. I got a couple of old things that still work like they did when new.
Circa 1995-96.
The 223 is a frickin hammer. A buddy of mine back in Idaho called it Black Death.
Killed tons of vermin and coyotes.
Won lots of shooting matches with it also, including a registered BR match in Ontario, OR. Also grabbed small group of the day with a .161. Tough shooting that day.
The Leicas were my first top tier glass. Haven't found a need to replace them.
The Bushy 400 still works. American made.
It was my dad's so I'll just keep it around.
Ok, so I didn't have a .050 wrench to tune the Jewell from @hic28 , and neither did the hardware store. So our friend up north a bit in Seattle @Threadcutter308 contacts me and sez 'wait, before you buy anything lemme look around'. Sweet, ok. So I get home a bit ago and find a package on the porch directly from a company. Pick it up and it's kinda heavy and I can't think of anything else that's suppose to come in except some 5.56 ammo from the PSA sale. Then I notice something regarding the name it's being sent to and know right off the bat, it's not something I ordered and it's gotta be from our guy.

On a sad note, this stock is not going to work out. Not bashing it, it just ain't gonna work out. Love the damn thing but it will not be able to be corrected and frankly I've lost all confidence in it at this point. I shimmed the front and back guard screws and got the floor plate to actually operate as designed, but now the back of the bottom metal protrudes below the inlet and the tang is floating, deal breaker. I shot some rounds that I know to be stable in 7MM's and it ain't happening.
Even if I ground the front guard screw I'd still be in the same situation with the floor plate not able to latch. I can't have that or a floating barreled action at the tang. Oh, almost forgot. Since I noticed the tang floating I figured I better check if the barrel is still floating as it should. Nope. It's slammed into the channel and you can't get one piece of paper to slide down it when before this I could slide a piece 3 pieces thick down it without issue. I'm gonna toss the OEM bottom metal off another Remington on it just for drill then take another barreled action and toss it in the Stocky's Stock just to satisfy my curiosity. Then I'm afraid this thing has to go bye bye. Hope like hell they send a shipping label and take this thing back or I'm screwed. Stay tuned, and as always, fingers crossed.

I was out in the shop last night, working on the Dillon XL650, using my Bondhus set. I think I'm gonna send you a non ballhead set too.......They are much better to start machine screws with. The fastener tends to just bobble and wobble in the ball head version, until you get it started.

You obviously don't have to do that. But I know what you're saying. When I was finger fucking those lowers I put together I ended up with a punch set with the ball on the end. Hate'm. I thought I had ordered the plain flat ones.

Just tripped across this, be'in old and all. The punches with the "balls" on the end are roll pin punches. Used for installing/removing roll pins, typically used in pistols. If you're considering it, I'd recommend against the temptation to take the bench grinder to them. If you don't have a good punch set, Starrett are pretty good;

I have two sets, inheritied them both from my dad. The sets are probably 60 years old and still going strong. Not cheap, but if you take care of them, they'll last you a lifetime (or more).
