So you're sitting there at a stoplight...

I used to live on a corner in a pretty rough neighborhood. One night, after falling asleep on the couch, I woke up about 2:00 AM and was getting ready to get in bed. I looked out the front door window, as I always did, to make sure nobody was screwing with my truck. As I looked out the window, there was a couple of "upstanding individuals" walking down he road. I watched them until I couldn't see them anymore. About that time, a slow moving car drove by going the same direction as the fine young men. (sarcasm) I was curious about what the car was doing, because I always tried to look after my neighbors. I stepped outside into the middle of my front yard to get a better look at the car as it drove down the road. All of a sudden; BAM BAM...BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM BAM!!!!! About three steps and my ass was back inside with all the lights out and the tv off. I contemplated calling 911, but didn't immediately. I gave it about 15 to 20 minutes, and I walked back out in the front yard where I coudl see down the street. Of course the car was gone, but I thought that I might have seen someone laying in the street. Maybe...I wasn't sure, it was dark. I waked back in the house and thought about calling 911 again. I finally said "Fuck It" and went to bed.

I told you that story to say this. Fuck it. Let those pieces of shit kill each other. If I'm in the red truck, I'm like Spartan67, I'm not doing a damn thing. I will write a license plate down in case an innocent gets hit or killed, but other than that, hopefully they won't miss each other next time.

That event was probably over before red truck knew what happened....

Assuming I had the wherewithal..... I probably would have turned right and booked it.... try to get out of the line of fire

I was in a similar incident about 22 years ago. I was riding my motorcycle down the street on the way home from the gym. A very upset individual decided that they needed to shoot someone in the park across the street right as I was next to them. So as bullets wizzed by me, I ducked down to my tank and cracked the throttle and got the F out of there as fast as I could.

Red truck did fine.
Going home alive.
I wonder what causes these exchanges of fire?
I'll wager drugs/territory will cover the majority.
A precursor of things to come.

If it ever comes to that.... shock and awe comes to mind...... make it like the seven day war.... we haven’t played “Cowboys and Thugs” yet

My neighbor was playing a golf tournament in Atlanta. Was jumped by some black lives matter shitstains, while at a stop light, in his rental car. They drug him to a motel room, robbed him, put a bag over his head and shot him in the head twice with a .22. poor guy was never the same after that.

hows the winters in WY?
I just got here about two weeks ago, so I missed the hard stuff of inversion induced cold where highs are sub-zero or single digit. It's a winter for sure, but not one that isn't doable by any stretch. Lots of wind and cold, snow with it of course, but things are getting nice now and plenty of above freezing days. Really though, it's an area that is used to it and prepared for it, where in the east a dusting of snow will cancel all work and school for days while here it takes a blizzard to shut down for a day or two. AWD or 4WD on the vehicle with good tires, good fuel fired furnace, no problem at all. The people here make it all worth the move, hard to find nicer and more down to Earth folks and I definitely don't miss the outrageous taxes, traffic, politics, crime and drama that Virginia had. I've lived in NC, SC, FL, and TN over the last 30 years being originally from UT, and I can tell you it is so nice being back in the west with real people again.

Edit: Just caught these thugs walking the street about 200yds from my house in broad daylight, they also terrorize downtown right off Main in the middle of day. At least I know how to deal with gang bangers like this, especially with garlic and onions:

Back on topic, the video is simply one example of many that highlight what my beliefs are on gangs, that they are terror organizations that need to be pursued and prosecuted as such. They may not have the political or ideological pursuits that "real" terror groups possess, but look at what they do to these communities. Typical intersection, broad daylight, certainly doesn't look like anywhere that would be crime riddled or otherwise make the hair on the back of my neck stand up, and it turns into a firefight location with innocents right in the middle and downrange of the fire. These violent groups have a tight grip on these communities in the majority of American cities and their people that rival the control groups like the Taliban and AQ have in many areas of the world, where people live in fear of doing anything against them and kids feel obligated to join them just to stay alive, and are held captive in their own homes where they don't feel safe even sitting on their front doorstep and are often killed sleeping in their bed by stray fire. How is that not being terrorized?

What would I do if I was in the red truck? Skinny pedal on the right, get the hell off the "X" like I'm back on Route Arizona in Kandahar.
